Parliament Monsoon Session 2026 Live Updates: Parliament reconvened on Thursday for the fourth day of the Monsoon Session after both Houses were repeatedly adjourned on Wednesday due to opposition protests.

The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) MPs staged a demonstration at Parliament's Makar Dwar on Thursday morning to protest a sit-in held on July 21 near Prime Minister Narendra Modi's resistance over recent exam paper leaks. Gandhi, along with other Congress leaders and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, staged a sit-in near the Prime Minister's residence on Tuesday. They were protesting against NEET exam leaks, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, and questioning police action against student protesters in Delhi.

Meanwhile, Leader of the House in the Rajya Sabha JP Nadda on Wednesday said that the government is ready for a detailed discussion on the ongoing protests and alleged NEET paper leak. All eyes are now on whether the ruling NDA and the Opposition can find common ground to let Parliament run, or if another day of protests and adjournments will overshadow the legislative agenda.

Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju stated the government is ready to hold a discussion on the NEET paper leak in both Houses.

"All parties have demanded that NEET be discussed. Today, the entire NDA party has again demanded that NEET be discussed. I felt that yesterday, after meeting with Kharge ji and some other opposition leaders, we had a little hope that a discussion could take place today. The Congress party imposed a condition. We requested that we decide among ourselves how and for how long the discussion would proceed but don't impose conditions. Your intention to impose conditions is not correct because you want to stop the discussion. We are again requesting that the NEET exam be discussed thoroughly in both Houses, without any politicisation," he was quoted as saying.

Parliament Monsoon Session 2026 Live Updates: 'They Are Not Terrorists', Congress MP Priyanka Vadra

Speaking to news agency PTI on reported mobile internet near Jantar Mantar, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, "They have cut all the internet. What are they doing? These are not terrorists. Their parents and families will be worried because they cannot contact them. They are being tear-gassed and beaten. What kind of democracy is this?... The Prime Minister takes credit for every achievement of this nation, whether it is reaching Mars or the success of our youth in the Olympics or Asian Games. If he takes credit for every achievement, then it is time for him to take responsibility as well. It is under his government that people are being beaten. In the last 10 years, 152 question papers have leaked, yet there has not been a single conviction. If the Prime Minister is responsible for every achievement, then he is also responsible for what is happening today."
