A Delhi court on Saturday sent the sixth accused involved in the Parliament security breach case to a seven-day police remand. The police claimed that he along with other accused wanted to create anarchy in the country to compel the government to fulfil their 'unjust demands'.

The Delhi Police confirmed that Kumawat was also part of the conspiracy to launch an attack on the Lok Sabha. Following his arrest, he was produced in the Patiala House Court. Mahesh reportedly came to Delhi on the day when a major security breach took place in Parliament after two people entered the Lok Sabha and threw smoke bombs during the session.

Earlier in the day, the Delhi Police said that Kumawat was arrested on charges of destruction of evidence and criminal conspiracy.

Special Judge Hardeep Kaur remanded Kumawat in the custody of Delhi Police after the public prosecutor’s allegations that Kumawat was involved in the destruction of mobile phones of the accused. The prosecutor also alleged that Kumat was involved in spreading anarchy in the country and needed to be questioned to uncover the entire conspiracy. 

A Delhi Police officer stated that Mahesh Kumawat and Lalit Jha came on their own to the police station and were handed over to the Special Cell, as reported by news agency PTI. Earlier on Friday, the Delhi Court sent Lalit Jha, the mastermind behind the major security breach in Parliament to a seven-day custody of the Delhi Police.

In a major security breach that took place on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament Terror Attack, two intruders identified as Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan D, jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery. They released coloured smoke from the canisters and shouted slogans.

However, the intruders were overpowered by some MPs who were present in the house who thrashed them and handed them over to the ward staff. While two other accused sprayed coloured gas from canisters while shouting slogans outside Parliament. They were also handed over to the police later.
