As the Parliament reconvenes today, both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha are likely to face ardent protests by the Opposition over pressing issues, including the NEET paper leak, inflation, and the Agnipath scheme. The proceedings of the lower house were disrupted on Friday after the Opposition sought a discussion on the NEET paper leak row. Speaker Om Birla turned down the request which resulted in a deadlock. The house was adjourned until Monday.

Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi stated on Friday that the NEET issue was a big concern for the entire country, calling for a dedicated discussion in the House on the matter.

"You can raise all matters in the debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President's address. You will get enough time. But I can't allow you to raise any other issue during the debate on the Motion of Thanks. It was already decided and mentioned in the bulletin too," Speaker Om Birla told the Opposition.

The Rajya Sabha also witnessed intense protests during the debate, with the opposition demanding a discussion on the NEET controversy. Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge joined fellow members in the Well of the House.

Today, BJP leader and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur will initiate a debate on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address. The motion will be backed by first-time MP Bansuri Swaraj.

Issue of Kejriwal’s Arrest likely to be raised in House:

Opposition MPs will also attempt to raise the issue of ‘attacking’ states' rights and damaging the federal structure in both Houses. However, it will not be raised in the same manner as the adjournment motion notice given on Friday regarding the NEET issue. The Aam Aadmi Party has announced its intention to raise the issue of Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, signalling the opposition's plans.

Congress sources, cited by Jagran.com, stated that since only three working days remain in the session, they will participate in the discussion of the President's Address to hold the government accountable on various pressing issues. Therefore, on Monday, the opposition will participate in the debate on the Motion of Thanks in both Houses to ‘expose’ the ongoing cover-up of the NEET issue in the House.
