Parliament News Live Updates: The contentious One Nation, One Election bill proposing to hold simultaneous polls across the country on Friday was sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee, after fierce opposition by the opposition benches in Lok Sabha. The bill was introduced on Wednesday in the lower house of the Parliament and faced severe criticism from opposition MPs including Congress leader and Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi. However, the government soon announced the formation of a Joint Parliamentary Committee, with newly-elected Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi and Union Minister Anurag Thakur among the members of the JPC.

The ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament saw several chaotic days, including a ruckus over Adani indictment by the US Department of Justice and the recent controversy over Amit Shah's remarks on Babasaheb Ambedkar. On Thursday, a massive row erupted after two BJP MPs sustained injuries during a protest at the Makar Dwar and accused LoP Rahul Gandhi of pushing them. The BJP even filed an "Attempt To Murder" case against Rahul Gandhi and demanded his resignation. Meanwhile, the Congress also filed a police against BJP leaders accusing them of injuring several party leaders including party chief Mallikarjun Kharge.

A row erupted on Wednesday after Home Minister Amit Shah, while giving a speech in Rajya Sabha said, "If they had taken the name of God so many times instead of Ambedkar, they would have got heaven for seven lives." The incident sparked a row with INDIA Bloc MPs led by Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi holding protests and demanding Shah's resignation.

Parliament Winter Session LIVE Updates:

- Both Houses of the Parliament, Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, on Friday were adjourned sine die, concluding the Winter Session of Parliament.

On FIR against Congress  MP & LoP Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition & RJD leader, Tejashwi Yadav says, "Bekaar ka FIR. It is a conspiracy to divert the issue of the statement made by Amit Shah on Babasaheb Ambedkar. The public is not blind. We all know the BJP's mentality towards Babasaheb Ambedkar. The public will not tolerate the insult of Babasaheb Ambedkar. In those 17 secs, he said what was in his heart."

12 Rajya Sabha MPs Ghanshyam Tiwari, Bhubaneswar Kalita, K. Laxman, Kavita Patidar, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Randeep Singh Surjewala, Mukul Balkrishna Wasnik, Saket Gokhale, P. Wilson, Sanjay Singh, Manas Ranjan Mangaraj and V. Vijayasai Reddy to be part of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for 'One Nation One Election'. 21 members from Lok Sabha were nominated to the JPC earlier this week.

"The public representative is the biggest sentinel of democracy but Rahul Gandhi and all the members of the INDIA alliance have forgotten this. Just by showing the Constitution, you do not become the protector of the Constitution. Yesterday, the security forces repeatedly urged Rahul Gandhi to take an alternate route. He (Rahul Gandhi) knew that a peaceful protest was going on, yet he deliberately and maliciously pushed and passed through the midst of all our MPs who were peacefully protesting there... Two of our colleagues have been seriously and deeply injured... Along with this, he should also apologize for the shameful attitude he adopted with our Nagaland MP Phangnon Konyak," BJP MP Bansri Swaraj said.

"Breach of Privilege Motion has been moved both in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. It has been moved against Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha because he spread lies through a 12-second clip of Amit Shah's speech. In Rajya Sabha too, Notice was moved against Mallikarjun Kharge for the same reason," Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said.

BJP MP Nishikant Dubey says, "I saw Rahul Gandhi climbing up the Makar Dwar, so I and another leader saw this and we decided to give him space. After climbing up, he pushed Pratap Sarangi ji, Santosh Pandey ji who is next to us. Mukesh Rajput ji got pushed and all those who were standing there were pushed. For the first time, I saw the ugly face of this party. The way our MPs were pushed, misbehaved with and after that, they had no remorse, was condemnable."

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra says, "This Government is scared. This Government is scared to have a discussion on Adani matter. It is scared of having any discussion. They know that their true sentiments for Ambedkar ji have come out. So, they are now scared of the Opposition because we are raising this issue. National interest is related to this matter. Our Constitution has been given by Ambedkar ji, people of this country and our freedom struggle. Such insult to him will not be tolerated by India. This is the Government's desperation. They are so desperate that they are lodging false FIRs. Rahul ji can never push anyone. I am his sister, I know him. He can never do such a thing. Frankly, the country knows this too. The country is watching how desperate they are that they are lodging baseless FIRs. These are all distractions."

After meeting two injured BJP MPs in RML hospital, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan says, "It is in Congress's DNA to insult democracy. In 1975, Indira ji strangled democracy, today Rahul Gandhi is taking forward that legacy. These people who are full of arrogance don't consider anyone anything. The people of India will never tolerate this insult of democracy and Parliament. Rahul Gandhi is not capable of holding the post of Leader of Opposition."

NDA MPs protest on Parliament premises alleging that the Congress party disrespected Dr BR Ambedkar. BJP leaders Anil Baluni, Arun Govil and others also present.

Rajya Sabha LoP Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and other INDIA Alliance MPs protest over Union Home Minister Amit Shah's remark on Dr BR Ambedkar in Rajya Sabha. They are demanding his apology and resignation.

On FIR against Lok Sabha LoP Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav said, "We will have to understand the tactics of the BJP. They first do unconstitutional things, do injustice. When you stand with those who have faced injustice, they slap false cases. This is not happening for the first time. This is BJP's strategy..."

SP MP Akhilesh Yadav said, "Parliament session might be concluding today but issues don't conclude. The insult to Babasaheb Ambedkar and the attitude of BJP towards him - Opposition demands that he should admit his mistake and apologise...If we have to take the country forward, Babasaheb's Constitution shows the way. BJP attempts to weaken Constitution and democracy from time to time."

On the current health condition of injured BJP MPs Pratap Sarangi and Mukesh Rajput, RML MS Dr Ajay Shukla says, "Both are in better condition. Their BP is in control. They are in the ICU at present. The team will monitor them. Senior doctors will decide after that. Both the reports of CT scan and MRI are normal."
