The proceedings of both houses of Parliament (Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha) were adjourned on Thursday following a disruption after a verbal spat between BJP and Congress members over issues involving US hedge fund tycoon George Soros, no-confidence motion against Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, and Indian conglomerate Gautam Adani.

Amid chaos, Dhankhar adjourned the Rajya Sabha till 2 pm today while the Lower House was adjourned till 1 pm. BJP President JP Nadda criticized Congress for questioning the ruling of the Rajya Sabha Chairman and alleged the party's connection with US hedge fund billionaire George Soros.

In his remarks, Nadda raised questions about the relationship between Sonia Gandhi, the former president of Congress, and George Soros, saying the public deserved answers regarding their association. “The country wants to know what is Sonia Gandhi’s relationship with Soros," Nadda said.

“The Soros who donates billions of dollars to destabilise this country, the Congress becomes his puppet and raises his voice and destabilises the country. It should be condemned,” the BJP President said in the House.

Soros is accused of orchestrating an anti-India agenda to destabilise the Narendra Modi-led ruling BJP government. As the Chairman gave the Leader of the Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge, the opportunity to respond to Nadda’s claims, chaos erupted in the House.

"They are trying to divert attention from the issue," Kharge said amid the uproar. As the chaos continued, the Chairman decided to adjourn the session until 2 pm.

A controversy erupted on Sunday (December 8) after the BJP accused Sonia Gandhi, the former president of the Congress party, of having ties to an organization funded by the George Soros Foundation. This organization has reportedly advocated for the separation of Kashmir from India.

Nadda Slams Oppn Over No-Confidence Motion Against Dhankhar

Union Minister JP Nadda strongly criticized Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge for his remarks against Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who is also the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Nadda condemned the Opposition’s move to bring a no-confidence motion against Dhankhar, saying that any challenge to the Chair's decisions, including those related to admissibility, is against the dignity of the House.

Nadda said that Kharge publicly criticised the Chair at a press conference, calling it both "objectionable and deeply condemnable."
