The Delhi Police has dismissed reports claiming that passports of people allegedly involved in the violence during the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar would be cancelled.
In a post on X, the police termed the reports "misleading" and clarified that no such decision has been taken.

The police also asked people not to share unconfirmed information and suggested that people depend only on the updates provided by official sources for information.
What Triggered The Clarification?
The clarification followed several media reports alleging that officials were preparing to revoke the passports of individuals involved directly in the violence that occurred during the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march on July 20.
As per those reports, police were identifying individuals allegedly involved in rioting and violent activities using CCTV footage, video recordings, and other technical evidence. These have, however, been denied by the Delhi Police.
Probe Underway To Identify Accused
According to Delhi Police, several personnel were injured during the clashes on Wednesday night. The police have launched an investigation to identify those who allegedly attacked officers and damaged public property. Authorities maintained strict action would be taken against those found responsible.
CJP Protest Continues Over NEET Issue
The CJP protest, which began over alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG examination and has been continuing at Jantar Mantar for several days. While most of the demonstrations remained peaceful, some incidents of violence have prompted security agencies to adopt a stricter approach. Earlier on Thursday evening, CJP made a call for a nationwide peaceful protest, three days after a massive march to Parliament which saw thousands of students and other protestors. The CJP called upon the students and civil society groups to hold demonstrations across all the districts, managing permissions and logistics. In a post on the official Instagram page, the CJP appealed for a coordinated protest across the country under the slogan, "Every District. One Day. One Demand."
