Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Philadelphia on Saturday, where he met with the Indian diaspora and is scheduled to participate in the Quad summit, hosted by US President Joe Biden in his hometown of Wilmington.

PM Modi was greeted with an enthusiastic reception from the Indian diaspora as he began his high-profile visit to the United States. Even before his plane touched down at Philadelphia International Airport, a large crowd from the Indian community had gathered, eagerly awaiting his arrival. 

Members of the diaspora travelled from various US cities, converging near Philadelphia International Airport and the Hotel Dupont in Delaware to welcome PM Modi. They expressed their excitement about the opportunity to meet him in the United States.

After meeting with the Indian diaspora, PM Modi praised the community for its significant contributions across various sectors in the USA, expressing his pleasure in interacting with them.

As PM Modi landed in the US, President Joe Biden shared a message on social media platform X,  announcing that he will welcome Prime Ministers Albanese, Modi, and Kishida to his home in Delaware. He emphasised that these leaders are not only crucial for maintaining a free and open Indo-Pacific but are also personal friends of his and of the United States. 

PM Modi to Engage In High-Level Bilateral Meetings With Biden

Modi is set to hold individual bilateral meetings with President Biden and other global leaders on the sidelines of the Quad summit in Wilmington, Delaware, as well as the 'Summit of the Future' at the UN General Assembly in New York.

The two leaders are expected to finalise significant agreements, including a multi-billion-dollar deal for India to purchase 31 Predator drones from the US. Additionally, an announcement is anticipated about India-US space cooperation, with Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla set to join the Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station.
