Merrut Traffic Diversion: In view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit on February 22, the district administration has implemented a comprehensive traffic diversion plan. The Prime Minister is expected to arrive at a specially constructed helipad near Shatabdi Nagar station at 11:25 am via helicopter from New Delhi and will remain in Meerut until 2:30 pm.
Key Traffic Restrictions And Prohibitions
To ensure a smooth commute and high-level security, several restrictions will be active on Delhi Road:
Heavy Vehicles: All heavy and goods-carrying vehicles will be prohibited from the Mohiuddinpur to Naveen Mandi stretch starting from midnight on February 21 until 8:00 pm on February 22.
Complete No Entry: On February 22, between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm, all types of vehicular movement will be suspended between Shatabdi Nagar Station and Mohiuddinpur. Only vehicles carrying official passes issued by the district administration will be allowed access.
Diversion: Vehicles coming from Delhi will be diverted from Mohiuddinpur to the Hapur-Meerut Highway.
Security Rehearsals And Senior Leadership Visits
SSP Avinash Pandey confirmed that a full security rehearsal is scheduled for February 21. During this period, traffic on the Shatabdi Nagar-Mohiuddinpur route will be halted for approximately one hour.
In a separate development, RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat is scheduled to arrive at Meerut City Station at 9:30 pm tonight (February 19). Brief traffic halts of approximately 15 minutes are expected along the route from City Railway Station to Ghantaghar, Railway Chaupla, Metro Plaza and Shatabdi Nagar to facilitate his movement.
Delhi Road and the event venues have been cordoned off with CCTV cameras. A special control room has been set up to monitor every activity.
