PM Modi Italy Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrapped up his first foreign trip of his third term on Friday, returning home after attending the G7 Summit in Italy. Soon after taking oath as the prime minister of India, PM Modi held discussions with several international leaders, including British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and French President Emmanuel Macron. Notably, his diplomatic engagements in Europe were marked by significant meetings with US President Joe Biden and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

PM Modi described his time at the G7 Summit in Italy as "very productive" before departing for New Delhi in the early hours of Saturday. "Had a very productive day at the G7 Summit in Apulia. Interacted with world leaders and discussed various subjects. Together, we aim to create impactful solutions that benefit the global community and create a better world for future generations," PM Modi wrote in a post on X.

Here Are The Highlights Of PM Modi's Italy Visit

- PM Modi met Trudeau on the sidelines of the G7 Summit on Friday (local time). The meeting took place amid strained diplomatic relations between the two countries, following the Canadian Prime Minister's accusation that "agents of the Indian government" were responsible for the killing of terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada last year. India has vehemently dismissed these accusations as "absurd" and "motivated."

- PM Modi held a bilateral meeting with Japanese PM Fumio Kishida on the sidelines of the G7 Summit and discussed the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project with a targeted 5 trillion yen worth of investment in India.

- PM Modi also met US President Joe Biden on the sidelines of the G7 Summit and said India and the US will keep "working together to further global good." "It's always a pleasure to meet @POTUS @JoeBiden.India and USA will keep working together to further global good," PM Modi said on X.

- The Indian prime minister addressed the event, stressing the need to dismantle monopolies in technology, especially focusing on artificial intelligence. On the sideline of the event, he held meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi also met with the leaders of Turkey, the UAE, Brazil, and Jordan and posed for a group photograph with them.

G7 Summit In Italy

The G7 Summit was held from June 13-15 in Italy's Apulia region. India was invited as an 'Outreach Country' to the summit, which includes participation from the seven member countries, the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, Italy, Japan, and France as well as the European Union. Italian Prime Minister welcomed global leaders for the 50th G7 Summit She had invited PM Modi to attend the G7 Summit. It is India's 11th and PM Modi's fifth consecutive participation at the G7 Summit.
