IndiGo Crisis: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) Parliamentary Party meeting at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament Library Building (PLB), New Delhi, on Tuesday, emphasising that reforms should be made to improve people's lives. Rules and regulations should be for improving the system, not to harass people, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, quoting PM Modi.

The comment from the prime minister came amid a crisis in India's biggest airline, IndiGo, leaving hundreds of passengers frustrated at almost all the big airports across the country since December 2.

Rijiju, speaking to reporters after the NDA's meeting, said “The prime minister gave excellent guidelines and guidance to all the NDA MPs on what we should do for the country, our constituencies, and our states. I would like to specifically mention one point. He has laid great emphasis on reforms to improve people's lives. Reforms don't just mean economic reforms or financial reforms. He meant reforms to make the lives of ordinary people in the country easier and more comfortable. Reforms in every sector. So, he has given us very good guidelines."

'Reforms Across All Sectors To Ease The People's Lives'

The PM emphasised undertaking reforms across all sectors to ease the public's lives and ensure they face no problems, Rijiju said, adding that the PM said that laws should help people. "He also urged the MPs to connect with the youth. I express my gratitude to the PM for this guidance. It was a very good meeting of the NDA parliamentary party," the Union Minister said.
