As Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) protests over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak continued at Jantar Mantar on Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his first direct message in two months,  assured that 'fast-track courts' will be set up to "ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks".

Taking aim at Opposition leaders who joined the demonstrations on the second day of the Parliament session, the Prime Minister warned, "Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared."

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi said, "Nothing is more important than the welfare and future of our youth! We have decided to set up fast-track courts to ensure swift and stringent punishment for those involved in paper leaks. Have directed the concerned authorities and officials to take all necessary steps in this regard. This continues our series of steps for safeguarding the interests of students. Those who try to harm the future of our youth will not be spared."

PM Modi's remarks come as CJP-led protest over the alleged NEET paper leak expanded from Jantar Mantar to nearby Parliament Street and Tolstoy Marg on Wednesday. An estimated 30,000 people gathered across central Delhi to demand the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, with opposition leaders joining students on the ground.

PM Modi Assured Strict Punishment In NEET Paper Leak Case: Kiren Rijiju

Earlier this week, PM Modi assured tough reforms and harshest punishment for those responsible for the NEET paper leak, according to Union Minister Kiren Rijiju. The statement followed the National Democratic Alliance's (NDA) first 'Mangal Milan' meeting on Tuesday.

Speaking after the meeting, Rijiju stated that PM Modi took a firm stance on the issue and clarified the government's commitment.

"On the NEET examination, the Prime Minister said that the government acted immediately after reports of the paper leak surfaced, and 13 people were arrested and sent to jail. At the same time, to ensure that students' future was not affected, the NEET re-examination was given priority, conducted successfully, and the results were declared without delay," Rijiju said.
