Parliament Monsoon Session: Prime Minister Narendra Modi slammed the opposition leaders for questioning the timing of Operation Mahadev, in which the armed forces eliminated three terrorists involved in the Pahalgam attack. While delivering his speech in the Lok Sabha, Modi stated that the approach from the opposition leaders is concerning, adding that the Congress has given a "clean chit" to Pakistan. Earlier on Monday, three terrorists were killed in Srinagar in a joint operation of the army and Jammu and Kashmir police. Home Minister Amit Shah also confirmed that the killed terrorists are identified as the attackers of the Pahalgam attack in which 26 innocent tourists were killed.
“Akhir kal kyun hua? Kya Sawan ke mahine ka somvaar dhoondha? Hatasha nirasha is had tak? Ab hua to kal kyun hua? Kya haal ho gaya hai inka?” (Translation: why did they kill terrorists yesterday? did they choose holy month of Sawan? Why is the opposition so frustrated?) PM Modi asked. "Out of desperation, Congress even questioned the timing of Operation Mahadev that killed perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack on Monday," he added.

He further accused Congress leaders of speaking on the line of Pakistan, adding that the opposition leaders have given a clean chit to Pakistan. "The country is surprised that Congress has given a clean chit to Pakistan. They are saying that the terrorists of Pahalgam were from Pakistan. Give us proof of this. Pakistan is also demanding the same thing that Congress is making..." the prime minister stated.
Earlier, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav questioned the timing of the operation by stating that the opposition had supported the government after the Pahalgam attack. “Why am I not congratulating you on Operation Mahadev? All political parties had extended support to the government when the time was right. After all, why did the encounter happen yesterday?” Yadav asked.
