Border Security Force (BSF) Jawan Purnam Kumar Shaw, who had been in the custody of Pakistan Rangers since 23 April, was repatriated at Attari-Wagah border on Wednesday.

Schools in Udhampur of Jammu and Kashmir reopened days after conflict between India and Paksitan had intensified. Situation in valley returns to normally as no drones, firing or shelling was reported overnight.

Indigo will resume scheduled flights from six airports, including Jammu and Amritsar, starting Wednesday. Previously, the airline had cancelled flights to and from these airports - Jammu, Amritsar, Chandigarh, Leh, Srinagar and Rajkot.

"In the last week, as a result of Operation Sindoor, Pakistan has seen its terrorism centres in Bahawalpur, Muridke, Muzaffarabad and other places destroyed. Thereafter, its military capabilities were significantly degraded by us and key airbases effectively put out of action. If the Pakistani FM wishes to project these as achievements, he is welcome to do so. Where India is concerned, our stand was clear and consistent from the start. We would target terrorist infrastructure operating out of Pakistan. If the Pakistani military stayed out, there would be no problem. If they fired on us, we would respond suitably. Till the night of 9th May, Pakistan was threatening India with a massive assault. Once their attempt failed on 10th May morning and they received a devastating Indian counter-response, their tune changed and their DGMO eventually reached out to us," MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.

"After the CCS (Cabinet Committee on Security) decision, the Indus Water Treaty has been put in abeyance. I would also like to take you back a little. The IWT was concluded in the spirit of goodwill and friendship as specified in the preamble of the treaty. However, Pakistan has held these principles in abeyance by its promotion of cross-border terrorism for several decades now. Now as per the CCS decision, India will keep the treaty in abeyance until Pakistan credibly and irrevocably abjures its support for cross-border terrorism. At the Adampur Air Base, PM Narendra Modi stated,"...Our drones, our missiles, thinking about it, Pakistan will not be able to sleep for many days...Through Operation Sindoor, you have increased the self-confidence of the country, bound the country in the thread of unity and you have protected the borders of India, raised the pride of India to new heights. You have done that which is unprecedented and unimaginable..."

Speaking at the Adampur Air Base, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the Indian Air Force for its strong air defence, stating "Pakistan's drone, their UAVs, aircraft and missiles - all of those failed before our capable air defence. I extend heartfelt appreciation to the leadership of all air bases of the country and every air warrior of the Indian Air Force. You have done a really fantastic job."

Days after Operation Sindoor, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Base in Punjab on Tuesday. During his visit, he was briefed on the security situation and interacted with the jawans.

While addressing personnel at the base, PM Modi said, “I can proudly say that all of you reached your target with perfection. In Pakistan, it was not just the terrorist camps and their air bases that were destroyed, but their nefarious designs and audacity were also defeated.”,

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Base earlier today, where he was briefed by Indian Air Force personnel and interacted with the stationed soldiers. His address from the air base is scheduled to be broadcast at 3:30 PM today.

Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed in an encounter in Shopian, Jammu and Kashmir. Two have been identified as Shahid Kuttay of Chotipora Heerpora and Adnan Shafi Dar of Wanduna Melhora. Shahid, active since March 2023, was linked to attacks on German tourists, a BJP sarpanch, and a TA personnel. Adnan, who joined in October 2024, was involved in the killing of a non-local labourer in Wachi. The identity of the third terrorist is yet to be confirmed, sources cited by ANI said.

Three Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists were killed during an encounter with security forces in the Shukroo forest area of Keller in South Kashmir’s Shopian district. According to a senior police official, a joint search operation by the police and army was launched based on specific intelligence about terrorist presence in the area.

As the forces began combing the forest, the hiding militants opened fire, leading to a gunfight. All three terrorists were neutralised in the exchange. Efforts are underway to confirm their identities.

The family of BSF Sub-Inspector Mohammed Imteyaz, who was martyred in cross-border shelling from Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir’s RS Pura sector on May 10, will receive a total of Rs 50 lakh in compensation. This includes Rs 29 lakh from the Chief Minister's Relief Fund and Rs 21 lakh from the state government, as announced by the Bihar CMO.

A gunfight has broken out between security forces and four terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Shopian district. The encounter began in Kulgam and later shifted to Shopian, according to security sources. Army and paramilitary personnel have been engaged in the operation for nearly two hours, with efforts to neutralise the terrorists ongoing.

Amid ongoing tensions with Pakistan, a Cabinet meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday, May 14.

The Indian Army confirmed on Tuesday that no enemy drones have been detected in the country's airspace, stating that the situation is calm and fully under control, according to ANI.

Schools and colleges in Jammu and Kashmir’s non-border districts are set to reopen on Tuesday after remaining closed for nearly a week due to heightened tensions between India and Pakistan.

PM Modi says, "We have defeated Pakistan every time on the battlefield and this time Operation Sindoor has added a new dimension... During this operation, the authenticity of our 'Made in India' weapons was proved...We all should remain united against all types of terrorism. Our unity is our biggest strength."

PM Modi says, "Many handlers of terrorists were openly roaming around in Pakistan for the last two and a half decades and were conspiring against India. India finished them at once. Pakistan was in depression and rattled at the same time, and he made the second mistake - instead of cooperating with India, it chose to attack us."

In a strong message to Pakistan and the world, PM Modi says "India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail. Pakistan has to dismantle its terror infrastructure, there is no other way to peace, says PM Modi.

The enemy has now realised consequences of removing 'sindoor' from the forehead of our women. Operation Sindoor was not just a name, says PM Modi.

The entire world saw how Pakistani drones were downed into dumps by our military might, says PM Modi.

With Operation Sindoor, India has struck at the heart of Pakistan, says PM Modi. He claims our missiles attacked with precision to damage their air bases.

"Pakistan pleaded with us to stop attacks but we considered it only after they promised to stop their misadventure," says PM Modi.

"We have given full freedom to the Indian army to wipe out the terrorists and today every terrorist, every terror organisation knows 'ki hamari behano, betiyon ke maathe se Sindoor hatane ka anjaam kya hota hai".

"On 22 April, in Pahalgam, the barbarism that terrorists have shown have shaken the country and the world. Those innocent people who were celebrating the leaves were killed in front of their families, after being asked about their religion," says PM Modi.

"Today, I dedicate this valour, bravery, courage (of armed forces) to every mother of our country, to every sister of the country and to every daughter of the country," says PM Modi.

In his first address after Operation Sindoor, PM Modi says, "We all have seen the capability and patience of the country in the last few days. I salute the armed forces, the military, the intelligence agency and the scientists...."

The Indian Armed Forces hit Pakistan's Air Defence Radar and other military infrastructure during Operation Sindoor. In a press briefing on the recent military operations carried out by India, Air Marshall AK Bharti said India successfully managed to damage the radar installations of the Pakistan Army. The air operations carried out by India targeted strategic military locations, including Pasrur Air Defence Radar, Chunian Air Defence Radar and Arifwala Air Defence Radar, Sargodha Airfield, Rahim Yar Khan Airfield, Chaklala Airfield (Nur Khan), Sukkur Airfield, Bholari Airfield and Jacobabad Airfield.

India and Pakistan reached a ceasefire agreement on May 10 afternoon, but it was violated by night as Pakistan launched a drone strike in the border cities for third day in a row. The government, in its briefing, said Pakistan violated the bilateral agreement on stopping firing and attacks on land, air and sea. The government has now directed the armed forces to give befitting response to the Pakistani attacks. The Army in turn has given its commanders full authority to retaliate strongly against cross-border aggression.

On May 8, the Pakistan Army launched a drone strike against India, where it used over 300 Turkiye-made missiles, to target bordering areas. The drones covered the skies above the border states of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan and Gujarat, leading to blackouts and alerts across several cities. The Indian air defence successfully intercepted and neutralised the Pakistani drones.

Operation Sindoor is a military campaign against cross-border terrorism, jointly launched by the three armed forces of India - the Indian Army, the Navy and the Indian Air Force. The military operation was carried out between 1.05 AM and 1.30 AM on May 7, 2025, when the armed forces used precision strike weapons system to target and destroy terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan. The attack came as a strong retaliation to the terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which took place on April 22 this year. As many as 26 men, mostly civilians, were shot dead while they were on a family trip to Baisaran Valley near Pahalgam.
