Delhi Election 2025: Congress leader and the leader of Opposition in the Parliament, Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that no one from a Dalit or a tribal community, would be seen in the photo of Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman after the Budget session on February 1.

"..Tomorrow you will see that the finance minister will go with a briefcase. A photo will come. You will not see a single Dalit, a tribal, a backward class person or a minority in the photo. There are 90 officers who will prepare the budget tomorrow. Out of 90, 3 officers are from OBC. Your population is 50 per cent and tomorrow if 100 rupees are distributed in the budget, then your officers will take a decision of only 5 rupees,"said Gandhi.

He hit out at AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of lying and making false promises and said that the man who came in a small car promising to change politics ended up in the "sheesh mahal" parking lot.

Launching a stinging attack on the former Delhi chief minister, Gandhi alleged that he did nothing for the people of the national capital in the past 10 years.

The former Congress chief also slammed the BJP, accusing it of spreading hatred and violence in society and said it is only the Congress that talks of giving "bhaagidaari" (share) and equal rights to all irrespective of caste, creed or religion.

Remarks from Gandhi comes on the same day when heated controversy has erupted following remarks made by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi about President Droupadi Murmu after her address in Parliament. Priyanka Gandhi has stepped in to defend her mother, asserting that the comments were misinterpreted.

Meanwhile, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is set to present the Union Budget on February 1. The budget speech will outline the government's fiscal policies, revenue and expenditure proposals, taxation reforms, and other significant announcements.
