Prithviraj Raj Singh Oberoi, the Chairman Emeritus of the Oberoi Group, passed away on Tuesday, November 14, at the age of 94. The company informed about the demise in an official statement and a mail to the employees was also sent by Vikram Overoi, the managing director of Oberoi Hotels and Resorts.

"It is with deep sadness that we inform the peaceful passing of PRS Oberoi, Chairman Emeritus of The Oberoi Group, earlier today," a statement said.

"As we mourn the loss of a true icon, we also aim to celebrate the extraordinary legacy PRS Oberoi leaves behind. In the coming days, we will share details of our plans to honour and remember him," it further added.

"It is with profound grief and sorrow that we wish to inform you of the peaceful passing of our beloved leader, Mr PRS Oberoi, Chairman Emeritus earlier today. His passing is a significant loss for The Oberoi Group and the hospitality industry in India and overseas," said Vikram Oberoi said in an email to the employees.

His legacy extends far beyond our organisation, influencing the hospitality landscape in India and across the globe," the mail further read.

The cremation of PRS Oberoi will take place at the Bhagwanti Oberoi Charitable Trust, Oberoi Farm, Kapashera, starting at 4.00 PM today.
