Airport Metro Link Via Kalyaninagar

Mohol also announced plans to connect the airport through the Kalyaninagar Metro Station on the Pune Metro network. At present, metro passengers must get down at stations such as Yerawada Metro Station or Ramwadi Metro Station and then rely on buses, autorickshaws, or cabs to reach the airport.

According to reports, authorities had examined six possible routes to extend the metro network to the airport, including alignments from Kalyaninagar, Viman Nagar, the Kharadi bypass area, and Ramwadi. After a detailed review, authorities identified the Kalyaninagar route as the most viable option for the proposed airport connection.

"After detailed discussions, the Kalyaninagar-Lohegaon stretch emerged as the most feasible alignment. A detailed project report for this link is already being prepared. Space has also been identified near the airport for the proposed Metro connectivity, with additional details to be worked out," Times of India quoted a Maha Metro official as saying.
