Pune Porsche Accident:  The Madhya Pradesh man killed in the Pune Porsche accident was the backbone of a lower-middle-class family living in MP's Umaria. Aneesh Awadhiya, 24, worked hard his way up to get a place in the IT industry, his father said. He left his family around six years ago to study at DY Patil Engineering College, Pune and started working as soon as he completed his education. Days before he was fatally rammed by the speeding Porsche car, he told the family that he was planning to go abroad and was in conversation with the company, added his father Om Prakash Awadhiya, a visibly shattered middle-aged man.

Aneesh, along with his friend Ashwini Koshta, was coming back from a get-together on the night of May 19, when his motorcycle was hit from behind by a luxury Porsche car. The car driver, a 17-year-8-month-old son of a Pune builder, was drunk and driving at a speed of 120-150 at the time of the accident, several eyewitnesses said.

Both Aneesh Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta died on the spot. The accused minor was later granted bail less than 15 hours after the incident by a magistrate, who outlined "stringent conditions" to free the builder's son. The accused was asked to write a 300-word essay on accidents, volunteer with Yerwada traffic police for 15 days, and undergo counselling and treatment for his drinking problem. The incident and subsequent swift bail have sparked massive public outrage.

"Was Bearing Younger Brother's Educational Expenses"

Aneesh, a bright software engineer, was not only managing his humble family's expenses, but he was also bearing his younger brother's educational expenditure, his father told ANI while putting up several uneasy questions.

"Aneesh went to Pune six years ago to study, and we had to face a lot of struggles to bear his college fees. Later he got a good job as he was very hardworking... Our elder son was bearing the expense of education of our younger son. Now, how will we continue his education?... Neither the police nor the government supported us," Aneesh's father Om Prakash Awadhiya said.

"No One's Cooperating With Us"

The accident, which left the nation shocked and outraged, shook the family, which stares at an uncertain and traumatic future. Aneesh's grandfather Atma Ram demanded the government make up for the losses, at least the monetary ones, if anything. He also alleged that Maharashtra police and hospital staff were not cooperating with the family.

"... He went to Pune for studies, then he started working as a software engineer there. On May 19, he was hit by a speeding luxurious car... I demand the government to make up for our loss. We are observing that Maharashtra police and hospital staff are not cooperating with us," Atma Ram, the victim's grandfather, said.
