Harcharan Singh Bhullar, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Ropar Range in the Punjab Police, has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The arrest is reportedly connected to a bribery case.
According to sources, the DIG was taken into custody from Mohali. While the police have not yet released any official information regarding the matter, it is understood that the arrest was made on charges of accepting a bribe.
The action was reportedly initiated based on a complaint filed against the DIG by a scrap dealer from Mandi Gobindgarh. At present, official details from the police are awaited.
