Punjab Local Body Election Result 2025 LIVE Updates: AAP Maintains Dominance In Zila Parishad And Panchayat Samitis; Check Tally

As per official results, AAP has emerged victorious with a significant presence across several districts. The Congress party also put up a strong performance, securing victories in a number of Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti segments. Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) managed to retain influence in select areas, winning seats in traditional strongholds.

As per the latest trends, SAD has an upper hand in the block samiti and zila parishad elections. SAD has emerged victorious on 5 of the 11 seats in the zila parishad and 25 of the 65 seats in the block samiti.

AAP Chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the victory and defeat were by a very narrow margin. "We did not misuse the election machinery," Kejriwal said. "The state elections were fair," he added.

349 candidates in panchayat samiti polls have been declared unopposed winners. 339 from ruling AAP, three from Congress, and 7 are independents. So far, 2,300 panchayat samitis results have been declared by the State Election Commission (SEC) and 216 Zilla Parishad seats. 

Out of the total 346 zones of the Zila Parishad, AAP has won 145, Congress 30, SAD 26, BJP 0, BSP 3 and others 7 seats.

Of the 2,838 panchayat samitis, AAP has bagged 977, Congress is at 487, SAD 290, BJP 56, BSP 26, and others 112. AAP has won 339 seats, and Congress 3 seats unopposed.

Gangster-turned-politician Gurpreet Singh Sekhon's wife Mandeep Kaur has won in the Zila Parishad election from Bajidpur seat. independent Candidate Mandeep Kaur won by a margin of over 3,000 votes.

SAD is ahead in the Muktsar Panchayat samiti. It is currently leading in 10 of 11 seats. APP is leading on 1 seat.

AAP candidate Harvinder Pal Sharma won the block samiti election in Chhajli.

SAD candidate Bibi Daljit Kaur Bhakna has won Zila Parishad Khalsa zone seat from Attari constituency. She won by a margin of over 2,500 votes.

 SAD candidate Surjit Kaur won by a margin of 42 votes from Babarpur block in Nabha.

The final results of the local polls are likely to be announced late at night due to delays in the counting.  

A total of 2,838 Panchayat Samiti zones are on record, of which 352 were declared unopposed. Elections were held in 2,486 zones. Results announced so far cover 1,605 zones, with the Aam Aadmi Party leading by winning 828 seats, followed by the Congress with 382, Shiromani Akali Dal with 223, BJP with 45, BSP with 25, no seats for CPI(M), and 102 seats won by Independents.

The opposition parties, including Congress, BJP and SAD staged protest on the highway in Jalalabad alleging irregularities in the counting. 

AAP has reportedly maintained a strong lead by winning 442 out of the 675 Panchayat Samitis where the result has been announced. The Congress follows with 116 while SAD is third with 64 seats. 

The ruling party has reportedly sought a recount in the Daulatpur block after SAD (Badal) candidate Gurdarshan Singh won by 9 votes. However, his victory margin later increased.

The ruling party's candidate Harvinder Pal Sharma won the block samiti election in Chhajli. This block also includes the native village of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann.

SAD is leading on ten of the total eleven samiti seats in Muktsar assembly constituency. The ruling AAP is leading only on one seat.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) emerged victorious in the Block Committee elections in Gambhirpur, which is the native village of Punjab Education Minister Harjot Bains.

In the hotly contested Bajidpur Zila Parishad zone, Mandeep Kaur, wife of former gangster turned politician Gurpreet Singh Sekhon, won by a margin of 2300 votes. She was up against a female candidate from the Aam Aadmi Party.

Out of the total 101 Panchayat Samiti seats in Moga district, results for 54 have been declared. Of these, the Aam Aadmi Party has won 25 seats, the Congress 17, the SAD 8, and independent candidates have won 4 seats, Dainik Jagran reported.

So far, results have been declared for 13 out of 25 Block Samiti seats and 1 District Council seat in Nabha. Of these, 6 Block Samiti seats were won by Aam Aadmi Party candidates, 4 by Shiromani Akali Dal candidates, and 3 by Congress candidates. The single District Council seat for which results have been declared was won by the Shiromani Akali Dal.

SAD candidate Harpreet Kaur emerged victorious in the Duladi Block Samiti in Nabha constituency. Kaur won by a margin of 800 votes.

Vote counting for 15 Block Samiti seats and two Zila Parishad seats in Bathinda has been finished. SAD has won 13 seats, while AAP registered win on two seats.

Aam Aadmi Party candidate from the block samiti, Daroli Bhai, tried to run away with the ballot papers after realising he was losing during the vote counting process. Police present at the scene apprehended him, Dainik Jagran reported.

Amritpal Singh Pappi of the Aam Aadmi Party has won the prominent Khairabad zone of the Rupnagar Block Samiti. Pappi received 895 votes, while Congress candidate Tarlochan Singh had to settle for second place with 611 votes. SAD received 156 votes, the BSP 148, and the BJP 65 votes in this constituency. Pappi's wife, Kulwinder Kaur, is the Sarpanch (village head) of Phul Khurd village.

SAD candidate Dharaminder Singh registered a win in the Lopoke zone of the Rajasansi constituency by a margin of 800 votes.

SAD candidate Harpreet Kaur is currently leading in Dalladi Block Samiti seat in Nabha constituency.

Former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi has accused the AAP government of miscoduct during vote counting. As per the Congress leader, the party was performing well in the Chamkaur Sahib constituency after four rounds of counting. He accused AAP workers of putting pressure on officials, resulting in delay in the counting process.

SAD and AAP are in a close fight in Jalandhar's Kartarpur.

SAD wins in Sito Gunno defeating AAP candidate by a margin of 682 votes.

SAD is currently leading in 12 seats in Malout Assembly constituency. AAP is ahead in two.

Eight Congress candidates have won in the block samiti elections in Kapurthala, Punjab, Dainik Jagran reported.

In the Block Committee elections, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate registered a victory in Sandhwan village, the hometown of Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan. In the declared results for the Sandhwan Block Committee, SAD candidate Mahinder Singh secured 1101 votes, while Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Mukhtiar Singh came in second with 930 votes. Thus, the SAD candidate defeated the AAP candidate by a margin of 171 votes. Congress candidate Jaswinder Singh finished third with 714 votes.

SAD candidate Manjeet Singh won from the Ladowal Block Samiti by a margin of 90 votes.

SAD candidate Navpreet Singh registered a win in the Block Samiti seat from Basarke Gillian in the Attari constituency with big margin of 1,700 votes.

In Sangrur, AAP is ahead in both  Block Samiti, Zila Parishad polls. AAP is leading in 62 of the 162 Block Samiti zones, while the Congress is leading in 35 and independents in 32 and SAD in 25.

AAP is ahead in 11 of the 18 seats in the Zila Parishad polls. Independent candidates are second with 4 seats, while the Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal ar leading in just 2 and 1 seats, respectively.

Results have been declared for eleven of the fifteen zones of the Rupnagar Block Samiti. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) won five zones, Congress four, and Shiromani Akali Dal two. The results for four zones are still pending. In the Chamkaur Sahib Block Samiti, Congress party candidates won in six zones. Counting is still underway for the seventh zone.

In the Anandpur Sahib Block Samiti, results have been declared for eight of the fifteen zones. AAP candidates won in six zones, and Congress candidates in two.

SAD bagged a second seat in the Majitha Block Samiti elections.

SAD's Rajvinder Kaur won by a margin of 161 votes from new Zone-16.

Sukhpal Kaur won by a margin of 23 votes from Bhoma Zone-3.

SAD also won in Sham Nagar, Karamjit Singh from Kheda Bala Chak, and Pakharpur.

SAD candidate Satnam Singh Lambardar has won from Zone No. 3, Bajrur, of the Nurpur Bedi block.

During the counting of votes for the Block Samiti and Zila Parishad elections at Prem Karamsar College in Nadala, the Congress party protested and created a ruckus, alleging that the results for the Block Samiti zone were declared without their candidates being present. Bhulath MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira raised slogans against the Punjab government and demanded that the counting be restarted, Dainik Jagran reported.

The Aam Aadmi Party candidate Amanpreet Kaur emerged victorious in the Jalandhar Panchayat Samiti elections for the Badala Zone. She won the elections with 95 votes. 

In Rajpura, the Congress party has established a lead in early rounds, leaving behind the AAP and BJP in a close contest.

Counting is currently underway for the 25 seats of the Nabha Block Samiti, with results for the first four seats officially declared. The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken an early lead by securing two seats, while the Indian National Congress and the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have won one seat each. 

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidates secured decisive victory in the Attari zone of Amritsar during the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections. 

The final results for the first round of counting in the Mehli Zone have been declared, with the Indian National Congress (INC) candidate emerging as the winner.

The results for the first round of the Panchayat Samiti elections in Block Banga have been released.

PS Khothran: Rekha Rani (BSP) won by a margin of 270 votes against Rajni Bains (AAP).

PS Mehli: Rajni Devi (INC) won by a lead of 184 votes over Avtar Kaur (AAP).

PS Kultham: Ravi Kumar (AAP) secured a win with a lead of 343 votes against Sukhinder Kumar (INC).

The final results for the first round of counting in the Kultham Zone have been announced, with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate taking the seat.

The first round of counting for the Panchayat Samiti (PS) elections in the Banga Block has delivered a diverse set of results, with the BSP, Congress, and AAP each securing a seat, PTC news reported.

PS Khothran: Rekha Rani of the BSP secured a victory with a 270-vote lead over Rajni Bains (AAP).

PS Mehli: Rajni Devi, representing the Congress (INC) won by a margin of 184 votes against Avtar Kaur (AAP).

PS Kultham: Ravi Kumar of the AAP emerged victorious, leading Sukhinder Kumar (INC) by 343 votes.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has taken an early lead in the Ludhiana Block Samiti elections. AAP is leading on 16 seats, followed by the Congress with 12. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) currently holds 5 seats, while independent candidates are ahead on 4.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has not yet secured any seats in the Block Samiti as the vote counting continues.

The first results of the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti elections in Jagraon, Punjab, have stood in favour of the Congress. In a close contest for Zone No 24 (Abupura) of the Jagraon Block Committee, Congress candidate Paramjit Kaur secured a victory by a margin of 61 votes. 

The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has clinched a significant win in the Mohali district as party candidate Gurinder Kaur secured the Khizrabad seat. Kaur polled 889 votes, defeating the rival from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Rajinder Singh Raji has emerged victorious in Gharacho village, Sangrur. This win continues to maintain AAP's dominance in the Sangrur district. 

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate Gurdarshan Singh Dhillon clinched a victory in Zone No. 2 of Moga. Contesting from the Daulatpura constituency, Dhillon emerged victorious in a high-stakes showdown against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Angrez Singh Samra by a thin margin of nine votes.

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Harjinder Kaur has emerged victorious in the Bhumbli Block Committee seat of the Gurdaspur Assembly constituency. 

The vote counting for the Punjab Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti election results began amid tight security arrangements and heavy police deployment at counting centres to ensure smooth and peaceful proceedings.

As the counting of votes continues across Punjab, AAP candidate Surjit Singh defeated the BJP’s Balwinder Singh by a margin of 399 votes.
