Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday trained his guns at the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address at the Mohabbat Ki Dukaan event in US' San Francisco. Addressing the Indian diaspora, Rahul Gandhi attacked the BJP government at the Centre over a number of issues and said that he had to embark on Bharat Jodo Yatra "because all instruments of doing politics were being controlled by the BJP".
Rahul Gandhi landed in San Francisco today for his 10-day tour to the US. Taking a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi said that some people in India have the "disease" of being under the impression that they know everything. He said that the basic tradition of India is under attack.
"In India, we grew up with people of different languages, different religions. And that is what is being attacked. The tradition in India, of people like Gandhi Ji and Guru Nanak Ji, has been that you should not be under the impression of knowing everything. It is a 'disease' that some groups of India think that they know everything. Even if they have a conversation with God, they might explain to him," Rahul said.

Further attacking the PM, Rahul Gandhi lamented, "And of course, Prime Minister is one of them. If you make him sit with God, he would start explaining to him (God) how the universe works and God would get confused about what I had created. BJP can speak to scientists and explain science to them. They can explain history to historians, warfare to the army and flying to the air force. But at the heart of it, they don't know anything".
In his response to a question from the Bay Area Muslim community, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi acknowledges the feelings of insecurity and attacks experienced by Muslims, while also highlighting the broader issue of religious and caste-based discrimination in India. "The way you (Muslims) are feeling attacked, I can guarantee Sikhs, Christians, Dalits, Tribals are feeling the same," he said, adding "What is happening to Muslims in India today happened to Dalits in 1980s".
Reacting to Rahul Gandhi's remarks, the BJP slammed him for insulting India repeatedly during his foreign visits. Attacking Rahul Gandhi, Union Minister Anurag Thakur highlighted PM Modi's extensive diplomatic engagements, meeting with nearly 24 world leaders and holding over 50 meetings during his recent foreign visit.
Thakur specifically points out an incident where the Australian Prime Minister referred to PM Modi as "the Boss," suggesting that Rahul Gandhi was unable to accept this praise. Thakur stated that Rahul Gandhi's behaviour undermines India's image and implies a lack of patriotism.
