Rahul Gandhi vs EC: The Election Commission of India (ECI) is preparing for action to counter Congress leader and LoP Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, who has been constantly attacking the poll body by alleging votes theft (vote chori). Gandhi also alleged that the EC of collusion with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to defeat Congress in the elections.

"If Gandhi believes in his analysis and believes that his allegations against ECI are true, he should have no problem in signing the Declaration. If he does not sign the Declaration, it would mean that he does not believe in his analysis and resultant conclusions and absurd allegations. In which case, he should apologise to the nation. Therefore, he has two options: Either sign the Declaration or apologise to the Nation for raising absurd allegations against ECI," the news agency ANI said, quoting the ECI sources.

EC Officials Question Gandhi Over 'Delay' In Filing Objections

The ECI on Friday questioned why the Congress leader has not raised any objections now, said news agency PTI, quoting sources. No political party approached the Election Commission for inclusion or removal of names from Bihar's draft voters' list, they added.

The EC took a dig at Gandhi, saying it seems the Congress leader will give his claims and objections "only after the elections instead of giving them now", the sources said.

According to the latest EC bulletin, since August 1 when the Bihar draft rolls were published, no political party has approached it with a request to add or remove names.

On Friday, Gandhi shared an 8-minute video on X to back his allegations that the Election Commission of India and the BJP “colluded to steal votes”. He demanded that the poll body provide digital data instead of manual hard copies.

"Vote theft is not just an electoral scam, it is a major betrayal committed against the Constitution and democracy. Let the nation's culprits hear this - times will change, punishment will surely be meted out," he added.

Congress' ‘Vote Adhikar Rally’ In Bengaluru

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Gandhi participated in the 'Vote Adhikar Rally' at Freedom Park in the city. Karnataka Deputy CM DK Shivakumar and Karnataka Congress in-charge Randeep Surjewala welcomed the duo at the airport.
