Jagran Correspondent, Chhapra: Amid a significant surge in passengers, the railway administration has decided to extend the Mau-Kolkata special train's service period. As per the North Eastern Railway, train numbers 05096/05095, the Mau-Kolkata-Mau special train, will run for 10 additional trips, extending its scheduled service period. The officials stated that the extra services will provide convenience to passengers of Chhapra and other cities of Bihar and West Bengal.

Service To Benefit Multiple Cities

As per the railway, train number 05096, the Mau-Kolkata special train, will operate every Wednesday between July 22 and September 23. The officials, while providing details, stated that the special train will depart from Mau Junction at 1:20 pm and reach Chhapra Junction at 5:10 pm via stations, including Siwan and Ekma.

The train will reach Kolkata at 8:50 am the next day via the Dighwara, Sonpur, Hajipur, Barauni, Kiul, Jhajha, Jasidih, Asansol and Bardhaman route. In its return journey, train number 05095 Kolkata-Mau Special will run every Thursday from July 23 to September 24, the officials added.

The train will depart Kolkata at 1:20 PM and will arrive at Chhapra Junction at 4:10 AM the next day. The officials further stated that it will then travel via Ekma, Siwan, Bhatni, and Salempur to reach Mau Junction at 8:40 AM.

'Will Provide Additional Options'

As per Chief Public Relations Officer Sumit Kumar, the extension in the operation period of this special train will provide an additional option to the passengers of Chhapra, Siwan, Sonpur and nearby regions to travel to major cities, including Kolkata.

He further stated that a total of 19 coaches will be installed in the train, including two SLRD, 10 general second-class, five sleeper, one AC third-class and one AC second-class coach. The authority has advised the passengers to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
