A 35-year-old man was arrested in Rajasthan's Pali region on Tuesday for reportedly murdering another person and slicing off his body over an illegal relationship with the deceased's wife.

According to police, the accused, Madan Meghwal (35) killed Jogender Meghwal (34) by hitting him on the head with an axe and then chopping his body into six pieces.

According to Gagandeep Singla, Superintendent of Police (SP) in Pali, the accused has been apprehended and the body has been recovered.

Mishrimal Meghwal, a native of Thakurdas village, reported his son Jogender was missing to police on July 13.

He reported to the police that his son had been missing for two days.

Police launched an investigation into the matter based on the missing complaint.

On July 17, Mishrimal addressed the police again, this time suspecting Madan's participation in the case.

Madan was then detained and interrogated by the police, after which he admitted to his crime. The accused admitted to authorities that he was dating Jogender's wife.

According to Pali SP, based on the confession, police recovered the body and charged the suspects with murder.

The body was placed in the mortuary, and a postmortem examination will be performed on Tuesday.
