Rajasthan Weather: The Meteorological Center, Jaipur, has issued a warning for multiple Rajasthan districts for heavy rain and storm in the next few hours. The weather body has issued an orange alert for Bikaner and Sri Ganganagar districts. As per the weather body, moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds (40-60 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places in these districts. Apart from this, a yellow alert has been issued for Jaipur, Churu, Sikar and Jhalawar districts. The weather department has urged the residents in these areas to take necessary precautions.
Every Year, the southwest monsoon reaches Rajasthan around June 25, but this year, it made an early onset from the Kerala coast, advancing quickly through Maharashtra and Gujarat. Following favourable weather patterns, the monsoon shifted direction towards the northeastern states, where it is now raining heavily. Maharashtra too witnessed significant downpours after the early arrival.
Currently, the monsoon is still some distance away from the neighbouring state of Madhya Pradesh. However, due to an active low-pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, the IMD anticipates the monsoon may reach Madhya Pradesh between June 10 and 12, ahead of the usual date of June 15. This premature entry is expected to trigger intensified pre-monsoon activity in Rajasthan as well.
