All eyes have been on Ayodhya's Ram Mandir's pran pratishtha ceremony as it inches closer with pilgrims globally looking forward to Ram Lalla's consecration ceremony. The pran pratishtha ceremony which is scheduled to be held on January 22 will attract a massive gathering with people arriving to Uttar Pradesh in special trains and flights. A seven-day-long ritual is already being performed in the run-up for the consecration ceremony.

"Pran pratishtha" a term often associated with Hindu rituals, simply means infusing life into something ideally a deity or an idol. In Hinduism, the ceremony of pran pratishtha refers to the rite by which an idol is brought to life or given life. During this ceremony, through hymns and recitation of mantras the deity is invited to be the guest in the temple and the idol's eye is opened for the very first time.

The first stage of the pran pratishtha ceremony is the "sobha yatra" which was held in Ayodhya on January 17. During this ritual, the idol is greeted and onlookers cheer in devotion.

The main idol of Ram Lalla was brought inside the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya in the early hours of Thursday, Shri Ram Mandir Construction Committee chairperson Nripendra Mishra said.

Earlier on Wednesday, a replica of the main idol was symbolically brought in for 'Parisar Pravesh' (entry into the complex) amid the chanting of mantras.

A 'Kalash Pujan' was held earlier on Wednesday. A special puja was held in the sanctum sanctorum before the idol was brought inside with the help of a crane amid chants of "Jai Shri Ram".

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. An idol of Ram Lalla will be enthroned in the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22.

More than 11,000 guests nationwide have received invitations from the Trust for the Pran Pratistha ceremony, with special arrangements underway to provide memorable gifts to all attendees.
