Ramadan 2025 Moon Sighting In India: The holy month of Islam begins today, February 28. During this time, Muslims fast rigorously, including abstaining from water from nightfall till morning. This holy month begins with the viewing of a crescent moon. Meanwhile, India will observe Roza, the holy occasion of fasting, from Sunday, March 2, as the moon has still not been sighted, announced the Jama Masjid, and Lucknow's Shahi Imam.
Saudi Arabia will begin observing Roza on Saturday, March 1, as the moon has been sighted today, Friday. In the Islamic calendar, Ramadan is the start of the ninth month and the 29–30 day fasting season that lasts from sunrise to sunset.

Islamic Centre Of India Starts Ramadan Helpline
Meanwhile, in India, a helpline number will also be issued on March 2, Sunday, that will work from 2 pm to 4 pm, announced Imam Idgah Maulana Khalid Rashid Farangi Mahali.
Helpline numbers for assistance are available at 9415023970, 9415102947, and 9335929670. Separate arrangements have been made for women to offer namaz. Shia religious leader Maulana Syed Saif Abbas Naqvi also confirmed that the moon was not visible. Starting March 2, the Shia helpline will be available from 10 AM to 12 noon at 9415580936 and 9839097407. A dedicated helpline for women has also been established; women can reach out at 6386897124.
