Rath Yatra Special Trains: The Indian Railways has declared that it will operate the highest number of special trains it has ever run to help pilgrims go to Puri, Odisha, where they can experience the world-famous Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath. This decision has come in the light of huge passenger influx during the occasion.

According to an official notification, the Ministry of Railways has scheduled more than 315 special trains to and from Puri during the Rath Yatra season to facilitate pilgrims' journey and provide convenience, as the railway anticipates a larger than usual number of pilgrims to converge in Puri this year.

In addition, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) has added special trains from Badampahad, Rourkela, Balasore, Sonepur, Daspalla, and Paradip via Kendrapara this year for the Rath Yatra in Puri. The ECR has also made the necessary preparations to accommodate pilgrims with reserved class accommodations.

Special trains would run from West Bengal's Sealdah, Palasa and Sompeta in Andhra Pradesh, Visakhapatnam, Raipur in Chhattisgarh, and Jagadalpur in Malda Town. Apart from this, the East Coast Railway has made the required arrangements to provide pilgrims with reserved class accommodations on trains that have few stoppages and depart from Badampahad, Rourkela, Malda Town, and Sealdah (Kolkata).

Check List Of Special Trains

  • 08495 / 08496 Paradeep-Puri-Paradeep Special via Kendrapara and Haridaspur departs at 2100 hours from July 6 to July 17, 2024, and arrives in Puri at 0310 hours the next early morning. This train departs Puri at 1530 hours on July 7 and arrives in Paradeep at 2230 hours on July 19, respectively, in the opposite direction.
  • Another Special Train 08497/08498 Paradeep-Puri-Paradeep Special via Rahama is scheduled to depart at 0230 hours from July 7th to July 18th, 2024 (late at night from July 6th to July 17th), arriving in Puri at 0810 hours. On the way back, this train departs Puri at 2130 hours on July 7 and arrives in Paradeep at 0300 hours the same night.
  • 08433/08434 Angul-Puri-Angul Special via Naraj Marthapur will depart at 2330 hours from July 6 to July 17, 2024, and arrive in Puri at 0355 hours the next early morning. From July 7 through July 18, this train from Puri will depart at 15:45 and arrive in Angul at 20:45 that same day.
  • Another special train, 08435/08436 Angul-Puri-Angul Special via Naraj Marthapur, is scheduled to depart Angul at 0130 on July 7th, July 16th, and July 18th, 2024 (late at night on July 6th, July 15th, and July 17th), arriving in Puri at 0740 the following morning. On July 7 and 16, and July 18, this train departs Puri at 2220 hours in the return route and arrives in Angul at 0230 hours that same evening.
  • 08491–08492 Bhadrak-Puri-Bhadrak Special via Salagaon-Naraj Marthapur will depart at 2100 hours from July 6 to July 17, 2024, and arrive in Puri at 0335 hours the next early morning. On the return trip, this train departs Puri at 1500 hours on July 7–19 and arrives at Bhadrak at 2135 hours that same day.
  • A second special train, 08493/08494 Bhadrak-Puri-Bhadrak Special via Cuttack, will depart at 0200 hours on July 7 and 15, 2024, and arrive in Puri at 08:25hrs the following morning. This train departs Puri at 2100 hours on July 7 and 15, arrives in Bhadrak at 0255 hours on July 18, and departs again at 2100 hours in the other way.
  • 08335/08336 Daspalla-Puri-Daspalla Special will leave from Daspalla at 0200hrs on 7th, 15th to 17th July 2024 (late midnight of 6th & 14th to 16th July) and will reach at Puri at 0445hrs on the next early morning. In the return direction, this train from Puri will leave at 1845hrs on 7th, 15th, 17th, 19th July and will reach at Daspalla at 2130hrs on the same day.
  • The second pair of Special Train 08337/08338 Daspalla-Puri-Daspalla Special will leave from Daspalla at 0800hrs from 7th to 18th July 2024 and will reach at Puri at 1055hrs on the same day. In the return direction, this train from Puri will leave at 0040hrs from 8th July to 20th July (midnight of 7th to 19th July) and will reach at Daspalla at 0330hrs in early morning.
  • The Third pair of Special Train 08339/08340 Daspalla-Puri-Daspalla Special will leave from Daspalla at 1100hrs on 7th, 15th, 17th July 2024 and will reach at Puri at 1400hrs on the same day. In the return direction, this train from Puri will leave at 0300hrs on 8th, 16th, 18th July (late night of 7th, 15th & 17th July) and will reach at Daspalla at 0540hrs on the morning.
  • 08341/08342 Kendujhargarh-Puri-Kendujhargarh Special will leave from Kendujhargarh at 2000hrs from 6th July to 17th July 2024 and will reach at Puri at 0145hrs on the late midnight. In the return direction, this train from Puri will leave at 1745hrs from 7th to 19th July and will reach at Kendujhargarh at 2345hrs on the same day.
  • Another Special Train 08343/08344 Kendujhargarh-Puri-Kendujhargarh Special will leave from Kendujhargarh at 0415hrs from 7th July to 18th July 2024 and will reach at Puri at 0945hrs on the same day. In the return direction, this train from Puri will leave at 2330hrs from 7th to 18th July and will reach at Kendujhargarh at 0445hrs on the next morning.
  • 08333/08334 Sompeta-Puri-Sompeta Special will leave from Sompeta at 0515hrs on 7th, 15th July 2024 and will reach at Puri at 1205hrs on the same day. In the return direction, this train from Puri will leave at 2300hrs on 7th, 15th July and will reach at Palasa at 0500hrs in the morning.
  • 08345/08346 Gunupur -Puri- Gunupur Special will leave from Gunupur at 2300hrs on 6th, 14th, 16th July 2024 and will reach at Puri at 0415hrs on the morning. In the return direction, this train from Puri will leave at 2120hrs on 7th, 15th,17th July and will reach at Gunupur at 0730hrs in the next day.
  • 08347/08348 Visakhapatnam-Puri-Visakhapatnam Special will leave from Visakhapatnam at 1400hrs on 6th, 14th, 16th July 2024 and will reach at Puri at 2245hrs on the same day.
