New Delhi: A purported video of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri has surfaced, in which he allegedly threatens India and Prime Minister Narendra Modi with “retribution” for Operation Sindoor.
The two-minute clip, circulating online, shows Kasuri addressing Modi directly. He claims that the “resolve remains strong” and warns that “the rivers and dams of Jammu and Kashmir will belong to us.” Referring to the Pahalgam terror attack, where he is seen as the key planner, Kasuri vows revenge, saying they will “avenge the blood of our brothers.”
The News 18 report cited intelligence sources as stating that, banned organisations in Pakistan continue to operate under the guise of flood relief. These groups, including Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), are reportedly receiving funds from the Pakistani government and military without proper audit. Sources pointed to Bahawalpur in South Punjab, known as a JeM stronghold, which was one of the sites hit by Indian precision strikes under Operation Sindoor on May 7.
Kasuri is identified as a senior Lashkar commander who also handles The Resistance Front (TRF), a proxy outfit linked to the Pahalgam attack. Intelligence officials said he coordinates with Hizbul Mujahideen and other militant commanders to plan joint operations with significant logistical backing. Despite Indian objections, Kasuri is known to openly appear at public events in Pakistan, delivering speeches laced with anti-India propaganda.
ISI Support Suspected
According to News 18 report, Sources believe Kasuri enjoys safe havens in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, with facilitation from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and political cover. His activities highlight continued state patronage for militant leaders despite Pakistan’s repeated denials before global watchdogs like FATF.
The release of Kasuri’s video comes a day after a senior Jaish commander admitted that Masood Azhar’s family was “destroyed” during India’s Operation Sindoor strikes in May.
