Bangladesh Violence: Amid escalating attacks on Hindus, Buddhists, and other minority communities in Bangladesh, the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM) has expressed deep concern over these incidents of violence and said that these assaults are part of a calculated conspiracy by Islamic fundamentalists aimed at decimating the Hindu population and seizing their properties under the guise of reservation.
MRM national convenor Shahid Sayeed emphasised that there is a serious threat to the lives, property, and dignity of about 13 million Hindus in Bangladesh. He also warned that unless strong action is taken to stop these attacks, Bangladesh faces the risk of following Pakistan's path.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) backed Muslim outfit also stressed that the population of Hindus in the violence-hit Bangladesh was 29 per cent during the time of its independence, and it has now been significantly reduced to 9 per cent.
Sayeed also emphasized that violence against Hindus continues unabated, with their homes, stores, and temples being deliberately targeted—indicating a well-planned campaign against the Hindu community.
MRM National Convenor Dr Shalini Ali stated that while the Indian government is in constant contact with Bangladeshi officials, the law and order situation in the violence-hit nation is dire. She emphasized the need for strong diplomatic and administrative measures to restore peace in Bangladesh and bring the perpetrators to justice.
This comes after scores of Hindu temples, and business establishments have been continuously attacked by violent mobs soon after Sheikh Hasina was ousted as Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
Following Hasina’s resignation and departure from Dhaka, hundreds of thousands of protesters defied the curfew, marched the capital's streets and later stormed the Prime Minister's palace. Several videos surfaced on social media showing crowds running into the premier's official residence in Dhaka, waving to the camera as they celebrated.
