Rudraprayag Accident News: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami met the injured in the Rudraprayag Tempo Traveller accident on Saturday at AIIMS Rishikesh. He said that the government has made all the arrangements to ensure that they receive all the necessary treatment and has ordered an investigation into the accident.

"It is very important for the injured to get proper treatment. Their families are being informed one by one. We have made all the arrangements to make sure that they get all the further required treatments...I have directed an investigation into this (accident)," he said.

A total of 12 people were killed and fourteen were injured after the tempo traveller in which they were travelling fell into a deep gorge on the Badrinath Highway in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand on Saturday.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced ex-gratia relief of Rs 2 lakh to the families of the deceased who died in the accident. He has also expressed condolences for the bereaved families and wished for a swift recovery to those injured.

- Taking to his official X handle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on X: "The road accident in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand is heartbreaking. My deepest condolences to the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in this."

- Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed grief over the accident through a post on 'X'.

- "Received the sad news of the road accident in Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand. My condolences are with the families of those who lost their lives in this accident. The local administration and SDRF teams are engaged in relief and rescue work and all possible help is being provided to the injured. I pray to God for the speedy recovery of the injured," Shah wrote. 

- According to news agency ANI, the vehicle was travelling to Rudraprayag from Noida when it fell into the 150-meter-deep gorge.

- A magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident, reports ANI.

- Earlier on June 11, a bus of pilgrims returning from Gangotri Dham fell into a ditch about 25 meters deep and got stuck with the support of a tree. One woman died, and around 26 pilgrims were injured in the accident, according to jagran.com.

- The injured were taken to the district hospital in Uttarkashi for treatment. A total of 27 pilgrims were in the bus, and most are said to be from Nainital, Haldwani. A truck carrying Kanwar pilgrims met with an accident at this place in 2010, in which 27 Kanwar pilgrims died, and in 2023, a pilgrim bus also met with an accident in which 7 pilgrims died.
