Maharashtra Politics: The politics of Maharashtra has witnessed a roller coaster ride following the death of NCP chief Ajit Pawar in a plane crash on January 28. While his wife, Sunetra Pawar, succeeded him by taking oath as the deputy chief minister, the party still lacks clarity. Amid the reports of the merger of the two factions of the NCP, Sharad Pawar, the former chief minister and a heavyweight, was seen active after months. His meeting with the people of Baramati, a seat dominated by the Pawar family for decades, has raised speculations of his comeback in active politics.

Sharad Pawar- Master Of Visual Narrative

Pawar has over 50 years of experience as a politician and has been a key figure in both the central and state politics for the past several decades. From forming his own party after a tussle with the Congress to establishing the Mahayuti government, Pawar has made several comebacks in his career and is known for his cunning political moves, especially through the visuals.

Earlier on January 30, Sharad Pawar visited the Nira River in Baramati to assess water pollution and also took feedback from the locals. While it was a routine visit on paper, people familiar with Pawar's style of politics sensed a possible comeback into politics. Pawar has also possibly sent a message to the people of Baramati—while their MLA Ajit Pawar is no more, the family is still active in the regional politics.

However, this is not the first time that the senior leader has sent a political message through the visuals. Earlier during the campaign for the 2019 Assembly polls, the visual of Pawar delivering a speech amid heavy rainfall changed the dynamics. The merger talks of the two factions of NCP got a hit due to Ajit Pawar's death; however, Sharad Pawar has stated that his nephew wanted the merger.
