Congress MP Shashi Tharoor is in the light again over the rich English vocabulary, with the only difference that he chose his wit over his erudite choice of words this time.

This time, he chose a simple Hindi statement for a sharp comeback in reply to a post written with the use of complex words. It all started with US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent's remarks describing India as "a bit recalcitrant" in ongoing trade talks.

Reacting to his statement, Tharoor took to X and said, "I hear some people are accusing India of being 'recalcitrant'. I say, far better to be recalcitrant than to be tractable, submissive or acquiescent to injustice."

Through his post, Tharoor lauded India for being firm on its stand and for not giving up on its national interest. The post was in line with his open support for the government on a range of issues like Operation Sindoor, US tariffs.

The United States has recently announced the import tariffs on Indian goods to 50 per cent, bringing a major setback for the decades-old progress in the bilateral relations.

His post was praised by many, but a comment grabbed even Tharoor’s attention. An X handle named 'Sagarcasm' replied with a question formed of a bunch of complex words.

Sagarcasm replied, "That’s fine, Shashi but what about the abnegation of camaraderie in the egregious enfranchise that comes from the fatuous of the grandiloquent at the behest of impecunious and insidious semaphore?

Tharoor chose to reply with a witty question in Hindi, saying "Bhai, aap kehna kya chahte ho?" (Brother, what do you want to say?).

Tharoor's reply was unexpected and unforeseen. The conversation left the internet in a split as one user said, "Bro made Shashi type in Hindi".
