Prime Minister Narendra Modi has formed a monitoring group under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Agriculture, Farmers’ Welfare and Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan to review the implementation of schemes announced by the Prime Minister in the Union Budget, subordinate legislation, and other infrastructure projects.
Along with Shivraj, additional secretaries and joint secretaries working as nodal officers for various schemes will also attend the meeting of this group. Though the government has not provided much information about the monitoring group, it is expected that Chouhan will focus on a comprehensive review of several key areas.
This includes announcements made on the Prime Minister's portal, infrastructure projects initiated by Modi, budgetary allocations, subordinate laws, and other significant development plans. Chouhan will also communicate the Prime Minister's Office's expectations to the relevant secretaries regarding any projects that are falling behind or require inter-ministerial assistance from the central office.
The monitoring group under Chouhan is likely to meet every month in the PMO at South Block to review and push all government schemes towards fruition.
PM Modi, who is actively engaged in both daily administration and international matters, is concerned regarding the delays in implementing government schemes, prompting him to voice his apprehensions in private discussions with key officials.
In response to these challenges, a new monitoring group has been established, led by three-time MP CM Shivraj Chouhan, who is widely seen as an efficient administrator with a reputation for efficiency.
