Shraddha Walkar Murder Case: The 2022 Shraddha Walkar murder case once again created headlines after shocking information emerged regarding the polygraph test of accused Aftab Amin Poonawala. His tricks to prolong the court trial have also triggered a debate.

Aftab Showed Sociopathic Tendencies

According to forensic sources, when Aftab underwent a polygraph test in 2022, he was found to have 'psychotic' and 'sociopathic' (anti-social) tendencies. He underwent a variety of tests, including an anger scale, a personality test, and an emotional test. The reports of these tests revealed significant findings.

What Have Tests Found?

The report indicated that Aftab was severely lacking in emotions and sensitivity. Furthermore, despite murdering his live-in partner, Shraddha, and dismembering her body, there was no remorse on his face or demeanour.

Overriding Concern For Self-Defence

The most significant finding in the report was that during the trial, Aftab's sole focus was on defending himself. He was constantly thinking about how to protect himself from the clutches of the law.

Trial Delay Tactics

On the other hand, due to legal hurdles and postponed dates, Shraddha's family has still not been able to perform her last rites. Seema Samriddhi Kushwaha, the lawyer representing Shraddha's family, has alleged that the defence is deliberately delaying the hearing.

The court had scheduled the hearing for the case from July 20 to July 27. However, Aftab filed an application with the court stating that he had an MA (Sociology) exam on July 20 at the IGNOU center in Tihar Jail.

Following Aftab's application, the court cancelled the July 20 hearing but did not fix a next date. Seema said she would soon approach the Delhi High Court for a fast-track hearing to protest the delay.

Family Waiting For Last Rite

The most tragic aspect of this case is that even after around four years since the murder, Shraddha's last rites have not been performed. Seema explained that the recovered body parts are currently legally case property. Therefore, the police cannot hand over these body parts to the family until the trial is fully concluded. This is why the family is unable to complete the final rites of her last rites.

In May 2022, Aftab strangled his live-in partner, Shraddha, to death in Mehrauli, Delhi. He then chopped her body into 35 pieces, kept them in the refrigerator for several days, and then disposed of them in various parts of the city and forests.
