SIR Extended: EC Revises Schedule For Delhi, Karnataka, Telangana, Punjab; Final Lists On October 12 And 19

The Election Commission of India extended the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in multiple states, including Delhi. The EC announced that the final lists, after completion and initial draft publications, will be released on October 12 and 19, depending on the states.

The Election Commission has informed the Chief Electoral Officer of Delhi of this change in a letter.

Delhi

As per the revised EC schedule, the process has been extended by 12 days. Door-to-door verification by booth-level officers (BLOs) will now run until August 8 instead of July 29.

The preliminary draft voter list, originally scheduled for August 5, will now be released on August 17. The final list of the electoral roll will be published on October 19.

Karnataka

Similarly in Karnataka, the house-to-house visit by BLOs has been extended to August 8. The draft list will be published on August 17.

Disposal of claims and objections will be done till October 15, and the final voters list will be published on October 19.

Telangana

In Telangana, the house-to-house visit process will now continue till August 3, and the draft electoral roll will be published on August 10.

The period of filing claims and objections will be till September 9, and the disposal of the same will be done by October 8. Final voter lit will be published on October 12.

Punjab

The SIR process has also been extended in Punjab. The door-to-door verification process has been extended till August 3 against earlier July 29.

The draft rolls, scheduled to be published on August 5, will now be published on August 13. Complaints and objections can be filed till September 12, which will be disposed of by October 8, as per the revised schedule. The final electoral roll publication will be on October 12.

Extension in Haryana, Andhra

The poll body has also extended the process by 10 days in Haryana and Andhra Pradesh. In both states, officials will now conduct door-to-door verification until July 24 instead of July 14. The draft list will be released on July 31 instead of July 21. People will then be able to apply for corrections from July 31 to August 30, and the final voter list in these two states will be released on October 3.
