In his first reaction following the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, activist Sonam Wangchuk hailed the development as a 'victory of democracy'. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), he called it a victory of peace, patience, and perseverance.

"It's a victory of democracy... direct democracy straight from the streets," Wangchuk wrote. Extending his congratulations to Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) and the nation's Gen Z, he added, "Thank you, all citizens, for shedding fear and the fear of fear, and rising from every corner of the nation."

His reaction came shortly after Dharmendra Pradhan resigned as education minister. Wangchuk had been on an indefinite hunger strike, demanding Pradhan's resignation and government accountability over the paper leak cases. He called off his hunger strike on Thursday night.

Reacting to Pradhan's resignation, Gitanjali J Angmo praised the nation's youth, stating that if anyone has shown what it truly means for India to be a Vishwaguru, "it is our Gen Z".

"They have lived Sanatan Dharma, not preached it," she wrote on X. Angmo commended their approach as "courage without hate, strength without violence and patriotism without blind obedience."

She further wrote, "Unlike many of their counterparts across the world, they have shown that you can stand firmly against injustice without burning your own country down."

"Maybe it’s time the Hindu nationalist party learnt a thing or two from these young Indians about Hinduism, nationalism, and what it truly means to be a Vishwaguru," she added.

CJP's Key Demand Met

Pradhan's resignation had been the main demand of the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), which has been leading a massive protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar for over a month.

In his statement announcing his resignation, Pradhan reflected on his four-decade commitment to educators, students, and educational reforms. He also expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for giving him the opportunity to serve as Education Minister.

Acknowleding the lapses in the NEET-UG examination held on May 3, Pradhan maintained thet he had never evaded accountability during the crisis. "My resolve was that no deserving student should suffer because of examination mafias and no student should face injustice," he stated.

He also accused certain individuals in responsible positions of misleading the student community to impeede progress. "The developments of the last 10 days have saddened me. This is not a matter of personal prestige for me. India’s youth power is the true strength of this country," he added.
