Nowgam Police Station Blast: Tailor Ignored Daughter's Request

As per the relatives of the tailor, Mohammad Shafi Pare, police had taken him to stitch bags for every packet of explosives. "The police took him away yesterday morning. He came to pray once in between," said his cousin Mohammad Shafi Sheikh.

When he returned home for dinner at 9 pm, Pare's daughter had requested him not to go due to the cold, but he convinced his daughter that he would be back after completing his job. "I'll finish work and come back," were his final words.

"Then we heard a blast at night. We rushed to the police station. The entire police station had turned into a heap of rubble, and bodies were torn to shreds," said Sheikh.

Tailor's Body Found In Hospital Corner

The family found Pare's body in a corner of the hospital after searching for him for an hour. Pare was the sole breadwinner of the household and left behind three children.

"When there are plumbers and other service class people in the police, why not a tailor? He went to help the police. What help can we expect from the government?" pointed out another relative, Tariq Ahmad Shah.
