Summer Special Train 2025: In a bid to manage the increased travel demand during the summer season, Indian Railways' Central Railway (CR) zone has announced a significant expansion of its services. After previously introducing 356 Summer Special trains, the CR will now operate an additional 498 trains, bringing the total to 854 Summer Special trains for 2025. This includes 278 unreserved trains to cater to the extra rush of passengers.

Key Highlights of Central Railway’s Summer Special Trains 2025

1. Total Trains: 854 Summer Special Trains (including 278 unreserved services)

2. Regions Covered: Mumbai, Pune, Nagpur, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and more

3. Purpose: To accommodate the increased passenger flow during the summer vacation

Major Summer Special Train Routes and Schedules

1. Mumbai (CSMT) – Nagpur Bi-Weekly Special (50 Trips)

- Train No. 02139: Departs CSMT at 00:20 hrs every Tuesday & Sunday (06 April 2025 to 29 June 2025) – Arrives Nagpur at 15:30 hrs the same day

- Train No. 02140: Departs Nagpur at 20:00 hrs every Tuesday & Sunday – Arrives CSMT at 13:30 hrs the next day

- Halts: Dadar, Thane, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Akola, Wardha, and more

- Coach Composition: 1 AC 2-Tier, 5 AC 3-Tier, 10 Sleeper Class, 4 General Class, and 2 Guard’s Brake Vans

2. Mumbai (LTT) – Thiruvananthapuram Weekly Special (18 Trips)

- Train No. 01063: Departs Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT) at 16:00 hrs every Thursday (03 April 2025 to 29 May 2025) – Arrives Thiruvananthapuram at 22:45 hrs the next day

- Train No. 01064: Departs Thiruvananthapuram at 16:20 hrs every Saturday – Arrives LTT at 00:45 hrs on the third day

- Halts: Panvel, Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Mangaluru Jn., Kozhikode, Ernakulam Town, and more

- Coach Composition: 1 AC 2-Tier, 6 AC 3-Tier, 9 Sleeper Class, 4 General Class, and 1 Generator Car

3. Pune – Nagpur Weekly AC Superfast Special (24 Trips)

- Train No. 01469: Departs Pune at 15:50 hrs every Tuesday (08 April 2025 to 24 June 2025) – Arrives Nagpur at 06:30 hrs the next day

- Train No. 01470: Departs Nagpur at 08:00 hrs every Wednesday – Arrives Pune at 23:30 hrs the same day

- Halts: Nashik Road, Jalgaon, Itarsi, Katni, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Jn., and more

5. Daund – Kalaburagi Unreserved Special (180 Trips)

- Train No. 01421: Departs Daund at 05:00 hrs (5 Days a Week) – Arrives Kalaburagi at 11:20 hrs (05 April 2025 to 02 July 2025)

- Train No. 01422: Departs Kalaburagi at 16:10 hrs – Arrives Daund at 22:20 hrs the same day
