Tamil Nadu News: A woman in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore district was brutally killed by her estranged husband on Sunday inside a women's hostel. The officials stated that the accused had visited the hostel to meet his estranged wife; however, he killed her after a heated argument. Apart from this, the accused also took a selfie with her dead body and posted it on his WhatsApp status, accusing her of betrayal in the caption. The officials also stated that the accused was arrested on the spot and is being interrogated for more details. The incident occurred amid the allegations of poor law and order in Tamil Nadu by the opposition parties, especially AIADMK.

Tamil Nadu: Woman Killed In Hostel

While providing details, the officials stated that the victim has been identified as Sripriya, who was living separately after disputes with her husband. Balamurugan, the accused, was upset over her alleged relationship with another man and had confronted the victim several times. The officials also stated that the accused had concealed a sickle in his clothes while visiting her on Sunday, reported NDTV. He attacked the victim with the sickle after a heated discussion, leading to her death.

The incident created panic among the other women residing in the hostel; however, the accused took a selfie with the dead body and even posted it on the status. The police arrested him on the spot and also recovered the sickle that he used to kill his estranged wife.

AIADMK Targets DMK Government

IADMK senior leader Edappadi Palaniswami on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the MK Stalin-led DMK government by claiming that thousands of minor girls faced sexual harassment during DMK's rule. He further stated that the people of Tamil Nadu wanted a change in the 2026 Assembly election. “Over 6,000 minor girls faced sexual harassment during DMK’s rule; high time to change government in 2026 polls," Palaniswami was quoted as saying by PTI.
