The report of the high-powered fact-finding committee formed by the National Women Commission (NCW) in the TCS Nashik case has revealed a toxic work environment at the company's Nashik office, where multiple women employees allegedly faced sexual harassment, attempted molestation, emotional abuse, and targeted religious discrimination by senior colleagues.
The fact-finding committee was formed by the NCW after it took suo motu cognisance of the complaints and deployed the committee headed by a Bombay High Court judge, Justice Sadhna Jadhav.
The committee included former Haryana DGP BK Sinha, Supreme Court advocate Monika Arora, and NCW senior coordinator Lilabati.
The panel visited Nashik on April 18 and 109. The findings mentioned in a detailed 50-page report contain over 25 recommendations.
It was submitted to Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on May 8. In its report, the panel has found the accused individuals, Danish, Tausif and Raza Memon had "assumed effective control" of the TCS Nashik facility.
They were allegedly protected by human resources head Ashwini Chainani. They were creating an atmosphere of fear inside the office, which was used to systematically target young and vulnerable women, particularly from Gen Z.
The report states, "No employee dared to raise their voice...Accused Ashwini Chainani, through her silence and insensitivity, had endorsed the acts of the accused." The panel also found security lapses, including non-functional CCTVs at the premises.

The report further highlights denigration of Hinduism at TCS's Nashik workplace as part of harassment. "The accused used to bully female employees by denigrating Hindu mythology, beliefs, traditions and practices and by impressing upon the girls that Islam was a far superior religion to Hinduism. The accused indulged in degrading and belittling the faith in Hinduism and created a coercive atmosphere through repeated anti-religious commentary directed at women employees," the report stated.
The detailed inquiry also revealed zero compliance with the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act as a single Internal Committee (IC) served both Pune and Nashik.
What's more worse is that no IC member had ever visited or inspected the Nashik unit.
