Telangana Rains: Subhan Khan, a Haryana man, knew his life might get in danger when he pulled the gear of his bulldozer as he waded through the muddy water to rescue nine people stuck on a bridge due to raging floods in Telangana. He drove to the end of the bridge and returned with all nine clung to the bulldozer.
The incident unfolded when a group of nine people with children and women among them, were stuck on the Prakash Nagar bridge on the Munneru river in Telangana's Khammam district amid the heavy flooding due to incessant rainfall in the state.
The stranded commuters made a video to reach the state government for help. Even though the Telangana government ordered a chopper to reach and immediately rescue them, it could not be used due to the inclement weather.
With no help in sight, Subhan decided to take the chance himself with the help of his bulldozer to rescue the marooned group. Though others warned him of the danger and asked him not to go, the Haryana native put aside the fear by saying, "If I die, it is one life, but if I return, I will save nine," and left for the bridge.
