Hyderabad Weather Updates: Heavy rains battered Hyderabad on Friday, leading to flooding in several areas across the city. Over 1,000 people have been evacuated from low-lying areas and have been shifted to the relief camps following the overflowing of the Musi River near Malakpet.
According to the officials, heavy rainfall has caused the Musi River to overflow near the Chaderghat bridge as the authorities were forced to open the floodgates in Himayatsagar and Osmansagar following heavy rains for the past two days.

The floodwater has also entered the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station, a major bus complex in Hyderabad, situated along the Musi River. The flooding also forced the authorities to suspend the bus operations at the terminal.
“Due to heavy flooding in the Musi River, floodwater has entered the MGBS premises. As a result, TGSRTC has temporarily suspended bus operations to and from MGBS Bus Station. Buses departing from MGBS are being operated from various locations in Hyderabad,” TGSRTC MD VC Sajjanar said in a post on X.
