THE SAMYUKT Kisan Morcha (SKM) has started a massive Kisan Rally on Monday at New Delhi’s Ramleela Ground. Farmers from across the country have gathered to demand a legal guarantee on Minimum Support Price (MSP) and for the fulfilment of their other demands.

The organizers earlier said that nearly 20,000 to 25,000 farmers from across the country are expected to join the rally from the intervening night of 19-20 March, 2023.
The latest advisory issued by the Delhi Police mentioned some diversion points including Maharaja Ranjeet Singh Marg, Mirdard Chowk, Delhi Gate, JLN Marg, R/A Kamala Mkt, Minto Road R/L to Hamdard Chowk, Ajmari Gate, Bhavbhuti Marg, Chaman Lal Marg, Paharganj Chowk, as reported by news agency ANI.
The Delhi Police has deployed nearly 2,000 security personnels at Ramleela Maidan, where hundreds of farmers will assemble. “To ensure the event runs smoothly, extensive security measures have been implemented, police said, as reported by news agency PTI.
The police said that the restrictions will take place from 9 am. The Delhi police have also given some instructions to the general public. “The commuters going to New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway, Nizamuddin Railway Station and ISBT should leave with sufficient time at hand to accommodate possible delays on the route. Avail public transport to help decongestion of roads, Park your vehicles only at designated parking lots, and Avoid roadside parking as it causes hindrance to the normal flow of traffic, in case any unusual or unidentified object or person is noticed in suspicious circumstances, information should be given to the Police," the traffic advisory said.
Here Are Some Routes To Avoid
- The traffic advisory mentioned that people should avoid JLN Marg ( Delhi gate to Guru Nanak Chowk.
- Avoid Ranjeet Singh flyover from Barakhambha Road to Guru Nanak Chowk
- Avoid routes from Minto Road R/L to R/A Kamla Mkt., Vivekanand Marg
- Avoid Ajmeri Gate towards Asaf Ali Road
- Avoid going from Pahargaj Chowk and R/A Jandewalan, Desh Bandhu Gupta Road to Ajmeri Gate.
- Commuters are advised to avoid Chaman Lal Marg
Some Restrictions For General Public
- People are advised to use public transport to reduce congestion on roads.
- Police has advised people to avoid roadside parking as it acts as a hinderance in smooth flow of traffic.
- People are advised to inform in case they notice any unidentified object or suspicious thing.
- The police has advised commuters going towards New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, and ISBT to leave with enough time to accomodate for any delays on the route.
