Ahead of the much-awaited swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi as the prime minister of the country, a big hoarding of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar hailing him with the ‘Tiger Zinda Hai’ (Tiger is alive) slogan has come up in the state capital Patna. Nitish Kumar-led JDU extended its support for Modi to lead the next National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Nitish Kumar-led JDU managed to secure 12 seats in the recently-concluded Lok Sabha elections 2024, the results of which were announced on June 4.
The party workers put up the poster near the planetarium in the capital city Patna, depicting Kumar as a key face in the formation of the NDA government at the Centre. The poster featuring Kumar labelled Kumar as ‘Tiger’ and the party workers said that the word 'tiger' is appropriate because his influence considerably boosted the NDA's performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

"There is no doubt that the party's morale is high after JD(U)'s impressive performance in the Lok Sabha polls. The concept and ideas for such posters are generated by party workers, who then display them across the city. The JD(U)'s commendable performance underscores Nitish Kumar's popularity among voters. Before the declaration of the poll results, he faced political scrutiny for various reasons. However, it is now evident that he is the popular face of the NDA in Bihar," JD(U) leader Neeraj Kumar was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha polls, the BJP-led NDA managed to win only 293 seats. The BJP won 240 out of 543 seats, with the Congress winning 99. Despite falling short of the 272-majority threshold, the BJP relies on NDA partners to form the government.
