Tamil Nadu Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert for heavy rain in three Tamil Nadu districts, including Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi for Friday. Meanwhile, Chennai is expected to witness moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning during this time.
Meanwhile, Cyclone Ditwah, which had caused widespread destruction in Sri Lanka, did not make direct landfall in Tamil Nadu as initially anticipated. The system lingered off the coast, leading to prolonged rainfall across Chennai and its northern belt since Monday.
The well marked low pressure area over North Tamil Nadu and Puducherry coast and neighbourhood moved slowly westwards and weekend into a low pressure area over north Tamil Nadu on December 3. The associated cyclonic circulation also has become less
