Toronto-Delhi Air India Flight: A Delhi-bound Air India flight travelling from Toronto received a bomb threat warning while mid-air on Thursday. The flight later landed safely at Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, authorities said.
The Delhi Police received a message early Thursday warning of a bomb threat on flight AI188. The flight landed safely at the Delhi Airport, where the Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was immediately constituted to evaluate the situation. After a thorough assessment, officials described the threat as “non-specific,” news agency PTI quoted sources as saying.

According to an official, the warning was received around 11:30 AM when flight AI188, operated by a Boeing 777, was in mid-air and roughly four hours away from Delhi. An Air India spokesperson confirmed that a security alert had been issued for flight AI188 while it was en route from Toronto to Delhi on Thursday.
In an official statement, the Air India spokesperson said, “At 11:30 hrs, Delhi Police SHO T3 received a threat mail claiming a blast on Air India flight AI-188 (Toronto Delhi Flight). Threat classified as Non-Specific after assessment. CISF and all airport stakeholders were instructed to enhance security measures."
“On board crew carried out all the laid down security drills, keeping passenger safety & security as top priority. The flight has landed safely at Delhi and has been parked for the mandatory security checks by the security as per the protocol. All passengers and crew have disembarked safely. At Air India, the safety and security of our passengers and crew remain top priority, the spokesperson added.
