NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore have safely returned to Earth after spending nearly nine months in space. The crew, which had been stationed in space since June last year, faced numerous challenges before their spacecraft successfully landed on the Florida coast early Wednesday morning, according to Indian time.
A NASA team was present at the landing site with a boat to welcome the astronauts and assist them. As the Crew-9 astronauts dressed and prepared to leave the International Space Station's Harmony port on Tuesday morning, they boarded the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.
In an official statement, NASA confirmed that all the astronauts returned safely and reported good health, although they will be kept under observation. The agency praised the Coast Guard team for their efficient recovery operation.
