Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri on Monday informed the Parliamentary Standing Committee on External Affairs about the Operation Sindoor. The meeting was chaired by Congress MP Shashi Tharoor and was attended by other members of the committee, including Abhishek Banerjee, Rajeev Shukla, Deepender Hooda, Asaduddin Owaisi, Aparajita Sarangi, and Arun Govil.

The meeting comes ahead of the Centre-formed seven delegations' departure to foreign countries to represent India's case on Pakistani terrorism.

After the meeting, committee chairman Tharoor said, "As you can see, the meeting that would've normally finished by 6 pm has gone on till 7 pm. It was very thorough, wide ranging discussion. We had 23 members attending which was a record for this committee... So, the fact is that we had a very, very thorough discussion. There was even a desire to have a resolution expressing solidarity with the foreign secretary in the face of the unwarranted attacks upon him. He himself requested that there should be no resolution. It was unanimous sentiment of the committee that he has performed good service for the nation, and we all stand with him."

What did Misri tell panel?

Misri told the parliamentary panel that the conflict between India and Pakistan remained within a conventional military domain and that there was no nuclear signaling by Pakistan during the conflict.

Misri further told the standing committee that there was no involvement of US President Donald Trump and that the ceasefire was bilateral and came after the Pakistani DGMO called his Indian counterpart.

The panel quizzed Misri on the probe, indicating that terrorists involved in the Pahalgam terror attack were in contact with masterminds in Pakistan. To this, Misri said that the nexus was evident between terrorists, the military, the intelligence agency, and the civilian administration of Pakistan.
