Twisha Sharma Murder Case: In a fresh update in the high-profile Twisha Sharma murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe, with Twisha’s mother-in-law, former District and Sessions Judge Giribala Singh, and husband Samarth Singh being questioned over what happened on the night of April 22 that Twisha’s mother, brother, and cousin had to rush to Bhopal.
Both reportedly chose to remain silent instead of answering most of the questions. According to Jagran.com, citing sources, the CBI’s primary focus during the interrogation was to piece together the deteriorating relationship between Twisha and Samarth after marriage and establish the timeline of events on the night of the alleged incident.
What happened on April 22?
Initially, Samarth reportedly argued that minor disagreements between husband and wife are normal. However, officials directly asked him what exactly had happened on April 22 that Twisha’s mother, brother, and cousin had to come to Bhopal to counsel him. Following this question, Samarth allegedly fell silent.
Investigating agency officials also questioned him about allegations of physical assault between the couple and asked what led to the complete breakdown of the marriage within just six months. As per the report, Samarth attempted to avoid answering these questions as well.
Meanwhile, another CBI team questioned mother-in-law Giribala Singh regarding the crucial 40-minute timeline on the night of the incident.

CBI questions Giribala over family’s allegations
The CBI sought clarification from Giribala regarding allegations made by Twisha’s family, which are also mentioned in the FIR. The family claimed that until around 9:40 pm, Twisha was speaking normally with her maternal family members over the phone.
However, when the deceased actress’s sister-in-law called again nearly 40 minutes later at around 10:20 pm, the phone initially went unanswered. When it was finally answered, Giribala reportedly informed them directly about Twisha’s death.
This left the family shocked and raised questions about what exactly happened within those few minutes that allegedly led to her death.
The same questions were posed to Giribala by the CBI. Officials also asked under what circumstances the family was informed. As per Jagran.com, the 63-year-old claimed she was unwell and complained of anxiety during questioning, forcing the agency to temporarily pause the interrogation.
Investigators have reportedly found major contradictions in the statements of Samarth and Giribala, and the CBI does not appear satisfied with their responses so far.
CBI also probing Samarth’s past relationship
Reportedly, before marrying Twisha, discussions regarding another relationship involving Samarth had taken place. During that period, Samarth and the woman had reportedly grown close, but later lost contact due to undisclosed reasons.
During questioning, both mother and son allegedly refused to share details about this previous relationship with the CBI. However, sources said the agency has already gathered certain information related to it.
