Shiv Sena corporator and the son of ex-MLA Abhishek Ghosalkar was shot on Thursday in Mumbai, reports news agency PTI, citing police. A `Facebook live' video of the incident, which showed Abhishek, a former corporator, being shot in the abdomen and shoulder, went viral on social media. According to the official, the incident took place within the limits of the MHB Colony police station in the Dahisar area. Soon after the incident, Abhishek was rushed to the hospital, but he succumbed to gunshot injuries.

- Party spokesperson Anand Dubey said that an attempt to create anarchy in Maharashta is being made. He has also alleged that the BJP, Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar's NCP have completely failed.

- The son of senior SS-UBT leader Vinod Ghosalkar, Abhishek, was a former BMC Municipal Corporator from Dahisar.

-The alleged assailant is identified as one Morris Noronha, a person from the neighbourhood, and he reportedly killed himself.

- Shiv Sena leader Anand Dubey has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter.

- "An atmosphere of 'Jungle Raj' is being created in the state. Firings are taking place in broad daylight. A thorough investigation should be made into the incident," Dubey said.

- This is the second such incident in the month of January. Earlier, BJP MLA Ganpat Gaikwad allegedly opened fire at Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) faction leader Mahesh Gaikwad at Hill Line Police Station in Ulhasnagar, triggering sharp reactions from the opposition leaders.

- Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has demanded Maharashtra Deputy CM and Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis' resignation over the firing incident.

- Congress leader Srinivas asked on X, "If this is not 'Jungleraj' then what?"
